FREQUENTLY ASKED JIMMYjack BASEBALL QUESTIONS
Although an explanation of components and game play is provided in the JIMMYjack Baseball ground rules and instruction manual... questions do arise from time to time. We are always glad to have the opportunity to discuss JIMMYjack Baseball. With that in mind, here are some FAQs:
Should JIMMYjack baseball be played with one deck or two? Two decks of cards are provided in each game, and there is a two deck version explained in the manual. However, the original and best version is played with one deck.
When should a JIMMYjack Baseball manager use the bench cards? We recommend new managers use one deck of 45 cards at the start of a season. As managers become more familiar with the game, bench cards can be added, from one card to nine cards, at the start of the game.
When are the wild cards used? Whenever the manager(s) decide(s) prior to the start of the game. The wild cards can duplicate any “single bar” card (Hit, Out, Walk, Error).
Do the dice have to be used in every game? Dice are used for stealing, pick off attempt and appeal play. A manager can choose to use all or none of these during a game. JIMMYjack baseball is guaranteed fun any way it is played.
Is there a limit to the number of pick off attempts? The suggested number is four attempts per team per game.
How many times can a manager “talk to” or “change” a pitcher during a game? No team has an unlimited number of pitchers and baseball rules apply. The second time you visit the mound to “talk to” the pitcher, then you have to change pitchers. As a general rule a JIMMYjack Baseball manager does not change pitchers that often, so there is not a set limitation.
Remember, it takes a new baseball manager time to know the players and it takes a new JIMMYjack Baseball manager time to know the cards.
